Tuesday's game against Gorman was a heartbreaker for Coleman, as they lost the lead late in an 8-7 defeat. The game was tied at six in the top of the seventh and Gorman scored on a single to right field and on a steal at home. The Bluecats were able to score one run in the bottom of the 7th when Jody Traweek doubled to center field, bringing Jadin Jackson home, but it wasn't enough to take the win.
The Bluecats lost despite out-hitting Gorman nine to seven. Coleman did take an early lead in the second inning when Traweek doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring Jacob Hohmann, courtesy runner for Jorge Salas who had doubled to left field to get on base.
The Cats knotted the game up at six in the bottom of the fourth inning when Braxton Smith's sacrifice fly scored Roby Odom who had singled, then stolen 2nd and 3rd bases while Smith was at bat. (6-6)
Ryland Gentry took the loss for Coleman. The righthander allowed three hits and two runs over two innings, striking out three.
Jorge Salas started the game for Coleman surrendering four runs on three hits over three innings, striking out five and walking one.
Coleman racked up nine hits. Traweek and Roby Odom collected two hits each to lead the Cats' bats. Jadin Jackson led Coleman with two stolen bases, with six total stolen bases by the team.
The Bluecats will play on Friday IN Winters with the game beginning at 12:00noon. (No JV Game) Randy Turner and Brock Bouldin will be live-streaming the game on KOXE.com and the KOXE app.
