ABILENE - The Coleman Bluecats won a playoff seeding game against the Miles Bulldogs on Tuesday night by a score of 4-0 at McMurry University.

The Bluecats grouped together great pitching, flawless defense and some timely hitting as they played a complete game to lockup the 3rd Seed in the District heading into playoffs this weekend.

After being no hit through three innings, Ryland Gentry smoked a double in the bottom of the 4th to get into scoring position. Blaze Hronek then followed up the double with a base hit down the left field line which scored Gentry, even though Hronek got thrown out trying to advance to 2nd base.

The scoring picked back up in the 6th as the Bluecats strung together four straight hits and a passed ball to add three runs and a whole lot of much needed breathing room.

Jorge Salas and Ryland Gentry combined for 7, two hit, shutout innings against a very talented Bulldog team. Gentry also led the charge at the plate going 2 for 3 with a double and two runs scored along with Blaze Hronek who went 2-2 with an RBI. Jadin Jackson added an RBI double along with Garrett Smith’s RBI single.

Kaden Johnson played phenomenal defense as he kept it clean at short stop and led the way in the errorless contest.

The Bluecats will now gear up for the first round of playoffs as they seek to battle it out with the Hawley Bearcats in the Bi-District matchup. This contest with be back on Driggers Field at McMurry University in Abilene with first pitch slated for 11:00 AM on Friday.  They will play game 2 on Saturday, time depending on results of other games, currently scheduled for 5:00pm. Â
