The Bluecats JV baseball team took the lead late in the game in a 15-14 victory over Bangs on Friday.
Bangs scored eight runs in the second inning, but Coleman JV still managed to pull out the victory, scoring 13 runs in the 4th inning to go ahead by one run. The game was tied at 14 with Coleman batting in the bottom of the fourth when Adam Mason scored on a passed ball, taking the score to 15-14.
Jadin Jackson was credited with the victory for Coleman Bluecats JV. The righty surrendered one run on one hit over three innings, striking out seven. Hagen Cavanaugh threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Garrett Smith started the game for the Bluecats JV. The pitcher lasted one and one-third innings, allowing two hits and eight runs while striking out one.
Jackson, Seth Mills, Gavyn McDonald, and Hunter Lackey all had two hits to lead Bluecats JV, accounting for 8 of the 10 hits. Coleman JV stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one, with Hagen Cavanaugh leading the way with three steals. (Stats Attached)
The JV is scheduled to play following the Varsity (V at 4:00) on Tuesday in Comanche.
