Alice Marie Denunzio, 75, of Oplin died Sunday, July 10, 2022, in an Abilene nursing home. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Oplin Baptist Church (9091 FM 604 W. Clyde, Texas 79510). (UPDATED)
Alice was born April 6, 1947, in Mojave, California to J.A. and Vera (Archer) Owens. She graduated high school in Boron, California, where she was named homecoming queen. She married Jim Morris in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 25, 1965. After her first marriage ended, she married David Denunzio in Seal Beach, California on December 29, 1982. They moved to Oplin from California in 1998. She was a member of the Oplin Baptist Church and was a retired interior designer.
She is survived by her husband, David Denunzio of Oplin; daughter, Cheryl Galvan and husband Rubin of Oplin; stepsons, Michael Denunzio of Bloomington, Indiana and Tom Denunzio and wife Melissa of South Bend, Indiana; stepdaughter, Julie Morris of Winchester, Kentucky; sisters, Judy Woodard and husband Butch of Oplin and Arletta O’Shields and husband James of Coleman; grandchildren, Kamryn Adams and husband David of Oplin, Gilbert Calderon and wife Kelly of Jarrell, Alisyn Smoot of Oplin, Colleen Denunzio of Chicago, Illinois and Sarah Denunzio of Louisville, Kentucky, an aunt, many uncles, nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents and her son, James “Randie” Morris.
