The longhorns will be arriving in Coleman again…in droves!  However, long gone are the days of the dusty streets and wild cattle, these bovines are coming into Coleman by truck and trailer for the 2021 World Qualifying Great Western Trail Days Longhorn Show at the Goree Expo.  There is record number of entries coming from east Texas, Oklahoma, north Texas, south Texas and everywhere in between.  The weekend is comprised of three shows and will boast over 400 entries.  The arrival will begin on April 23 and will continue most of the day.  Saturday, April 24th, will start with the Red River Arena TLBAA Longhorn Show at 9am and will end with some beautiful trophy steers gracing the show ring by early afternoon.  Dr. Randy Harp form Commerce, TX will be the judge to sort the cattle for the first show.  Following the morning show, the TLBT Youth Points Longhorn Show will start no earlier than 1pm and will be sorted by Kolton Thigpen of Sweetwater, TX. 

Sunday morning, April 25th, will begin with a cowboy breakfast and cowboy church by our own Silver Valley, TX cowboy preacher-Jeff Gore.  Everyone is invited!  Breakfast is at 7:30am and church service at 8:30am at the Goree Expo with plenty of seating.  The service will last until 9:30 with a half hour break following. The Central Texas Farm Credit TLBT Youth Longhorn Show will start at 10am and will be sorted by John T. Baker of the Sunrise Ranch in Liberty, TX.

The public is welcome and encouraged to come out to view the cattle and the shows.  The Coleman 4-H have teamed up with the Circle C Cattlewomen to offer food and drinks on site.

Go ahead and plan for a weekend in Coleman.  The Great Western Trail Days volunteers, helpers, and sponsors are hosting some great things; Pioneer Market, Team Roping, library exhibits and activities, Heritage Hall quilt show, western heritage displays and living history, along with fantastic shopping, great dining, and wonderful wineries.  Admission is free to join the fun!
