The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be offering an Elder Care Conference for the community adults of Coleman County. “Aging with Grace” is targeted to both men and women 60 years old and above. The event will be held at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 500 W. Liveoak, on Saturday, September 21st. The conference will begin at 9:45 a.m. and conclude around 3:00 p.m.
One of the guest speakers for the event will be Andy Crocker, Texas A&M AgriLife Gerontology Specialist from Amarillo. Mr. Crocker has served as the Gerontology Specialist since 2003. He is passionate about education and outreach regarding the health and well0-being of the aging population in Texas. There will be other local guest speakers such as Dr. Darron Atwood, Lana Kading, Michelle Burdick, Stephanie Diaz and a representative from CTO.
We will also be hosting Ravonne McCray, Mature Driving Program Specialist with Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Mrs. McCray has a passion for the mature driver to be safe on the roads and will be sharing her expertise with us at the conference.
Lunch will be provided for participants. The event is free to the first 30 who call in and register. After that, the cost is $15. Door prizes will also be provided throughout the day.
