Five individuals were arrested Tuesday, October 8, in Coleman by the Coleman County Sheriff's Department with assistance from Coleman and Santa Anna Police Departments. The following arrest report was obtained from Coleman County Sheriff, Les Cogdill. Photos and bond amounts of each individual are attached to this story.
"On Tuesday, October 08, 2019, a Deputy Sheriff with the Coleman County Sheriff’s Office arrested 5 individuals that stemmed from an investigation into a dispute over a motor vehicle trade deal.
When the deputy arrived at the 1300 block of Nueces in Coleman, he noticed a gray pickup began to drive away from the residence. The pickup had barely moved when the 2 female cab occupants and the white male in the pickup bed seemed to panic when they saw the deputy’s patrol vehicle. The gray pickup came to a sudden stop as the females began to put on their safety belts and the male tried to hide in the bed by lying down in a somewhat fetal position. The female driver was identified as Debra Kay Alonzo and the passenger was identified as Judy Strength. The male in the bed was identified as Jeffrey Clark Keel.
The deputy stopped beside the gray pickup and in front of the residence. When the deputy got out he saw Keel hiding in the bed of the pickup with a used syringe lying next to him. A subsequent search of the gray pickup revealed a baggy containing 1.6 grams of a crystal-like substance reported to be methamphetamine, 2 additional loaded syringes, and drug paraphernalia. Alonzo, Strength, and Keel were arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance.
The Deputy then saw a white male identified as Riley Keith Marks who was frantically looking through a Chevrolet Tahoe that was parked at the residence. Marks and the Tahoe were part of the disputed motor vehicle trade deal that was the original reason for going to the residence. Marks stepped out of the Tahoe with a pipe, commonly used for smoking marijuana, sticking out of his front pants pocket. The pipe was in plain view and it appeared that Marks was not able to stick the pipe deep in his pocket before the deputy approached him. Marks was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and for an outstanding Runnels county warrant. The owner of the residence, Albert Sydney Kincaid was also arrested for an outstanding Coleman County warrant.
Coleman Police Department and Santa Anna Police Department assisted in the arrests."
