Lt. Colonel August Pfluger

Lt. Colonel Pfluger will be in Coleman, Texas this Friday, December 6th. He will have lunch at Owl Drug at 12:15 pm and will hold a meet and greet at the Senior Center at 1:00 pm. Lt Col August Pfluger, United States Air Force Reserves, is a 7th generation West Texan. He was raised in a ranching family and lived in Kimble, Concho and Tom Green Counties. August became an Eagle Scout in Troop 1, was Captain of the varsity football and baseball teams, and graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1996 before attending the United States Air Force Academy. As a cadet, he played several years of Division I baseball and graduated in 2000 receiving multiple academic and leadership honors including the Engineering 410 student of the year. As a 2nd Lieutenant, Pfluger attended pilot training at Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, Texas, graduating in the top 5% of his class. Lt Col Pfluger has served as a fighter pilot, commander, and servant leader in the U.S. Air Force for almost 20 years. He was chosen as one of the first F‐22 Raptor pilots and is a combat decorated veteran with over 300 hours of direct action against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). He has commanded hundreds of combat airmen, studied at the military’s most prestigious institutions, and most recently served in the Trump White House as a member of the National Security Council staff advising the President of the United States on foreign and domestic national security policies. August recently joined his family ranching business with operations in Kimble and Concho counties and started an Energy Investment company devoted to increasing pipeline infrastructure and capacity in the Permian Basin.

August is married to Camille Cole Pfluger. They have three daughters and recently relocated to West Texas. Camille was born and raised in Hillsboro, Texas where her family still resides. She is a 2001 graduate of Texas A&M University and is a devoted mom and military spouse. She is a licensed Guidance Counselor and Teacher and has spent her career helping military families around the world. Camille and August have been assigned to 10 different duty locations and he has deployed numerous times in the defense of the country.

August is a conservative Republican, a devoted husband and father, and is transferring his church membership back to San Angelo. He is a regular volunteer in the community, serving as a youth soccer coach for his daughters’ teams and has led Bible studies at every location he has been stationed. August holds a Bachelor of Science from the United States Air Force Academy as well and two Masters degrees in aeronautical sciences and military operational art and strategy. In December of 2019, he will complete his third Master’s degree in International Business and Policy at Georgetown University. He is returning to Texas to fight for and protect the West Texas values he grew up with.
