The FCA All-Star Basketball game on Saturday was definitely a fun one! Especially for Coleman HS graduate Abbi Allen, as the South Team won AND she was chosen the MVP of the Girls FCA All-Star game.
The North All-Stars and South All-Stars met at Brownwood High School for 40 minutes of exciting play. The game stayed close until halftime, with the score tied at 24-24. However, the South All-Stars came out of the dressing room for the 3rd quarter and went to work. Allen (#4 in red in photos) scored 8 of her 12 points in the second half, with 4 of 5 free throws, assisting in the win. Allen blocked 3 shots, had 5 steals, 1 assist and 1 rebound in the game, helping her earn the MVP honor.
Also representing Coleman County was Adalee Donham (#11 in red jersey in photos) of Santa Anna HS, who played alongside Allen on the South All-Star team. Donham pulled down 3 rebounds to assist with the win. (Read more below...)
Allen's main defensive opponent was North All-Star Alee McClendon (#21 in photos) from 4-A Stephenville HS. She made Allen work for offensive position, and fought to keep Allen off the offensive boards. However, she couldn't keep Allen from being the scoring threat she was all year for the 2-A Coleman Bluekatts. Congratulations to Abbi Allen for being selected the MVP for the 2021 FCA All-Star game.
