4-H Shooting Sports

The 4-H Shooting Sports project will continue to practice at the Goree Expo Center, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Unless optional meeting dates are announced, practices will continue EACH MONDAY through June. If you have any questions, you may contact shooting sports leaders Ben or Meredith Taylor, or the County Extension Office at 325-625-4519.
County Stock Show Checks are Available
Attention Coleman County 4-H Exhibitors - - If you have not already done so, please write your thank you note(s) and bring them by the Extension Office so that we may verify them. After we see them, you may mail or deliver them as appropriate. You may pick up your check at that time. Thank you notes are an important way to thank our buyers and supporters of the 4-H program. If you have not written or brought your notes by the Extension Office, please do so promptly. NOTE: The office is open for regular hours, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. If you have any questions, call the Co. Extension Office at 625-4519 or reply to this e-mail. Thank you!

District 7 4-H Roundup
- Friday, April 30, 2021 - Grape Creek Baptist Church
- DISTRICT ROUNDUP ENTRIES will open up on 4-H Online April 5th and close April 19th.
District 4-H Roundup Contestsare open to all 4-H members. Age groups are JUNIOR (age 8 and in the 3rd grade to 8th grade) and SENIOR – 9th through 12th grades. District Roundup contests include: Educational Presentations, Entomology ID and Soils Judging, Public Speaking, Share-the-Fun and Senior Fashion Show / Storyboard. MORE INFORMATION may be found in the Texas 4-H Roundup Guide for specific rules for all of these contests.
The District 7 4-H Roundup event is scheduled for Friday, April 30, 2021 in San Angelo.
Each year, either at separate contests or at the District 4-H Roundup event, 4-Hers have opportunities to showcase their talents in many project areas. Listed below are descriptions about some of the projects you could participate in:
Senior Fashion Show– Senior age 4-H members in Grades 9 through 12, can exhibit their Clothing & Textiles skills in the construction and buying divisions. Fashion Show is designed to recognize 4-H members who have completed a Clothing and Textiles project. Learning objectives in this project include: knowledge of fibers and fabrics, wardrobe selection, clothing construction, comparison shopping, fashion interpretation, understanding of style, good grooming, poise in front of others, and personal presentation skills.
CONSTRUCTION categories: Everyday Living, Re-Fashion, Semi-Formal to Formal, and Theatre/Costume.
BUYING categories: Business/Interview Attire, Fantastic Fashions Under $25, Semi-Formal to Formal, and Special Interest. In addition to the above divisions/categories, 4-H members may enter the Natural Fiber Division and Storyboard divisions.
Senior Fashion Show will be held during the District 4-H Roundup event in April. If you are a Senior age 4-H member and would like to participate, please contact the County Extension Office, 325-625-4519.
Educational Presentations and Public Speaking categories include: Beef, Clothing & Textiles, Companion Animals, Health, Horse, Open/General, Open/Agriculture and Natural Resources, Open/Family & Consumer Sciences, Promote 4-H, Public Speaking (not an Educational Presentation), Safety & Injury Prevention, and Sheep and/or Goat presentations.
