Coleman High School Class of 2020

Bethany Ridgeway is the daughter of Mark and Mandy Ridgeway. Bethany has been involved in Yearbook during her four years of High School and became Editor in Chief her senior year. She participated in Band her freshman and part of the sophomore year. During Bethany's freshman year she wrote a poem called "Relationships" which was printed in the fall of 2016 "A Celebration of Poets Anthology." She also participated in golf, was secretary of FBLA and wrote articles for the Coleman Chronicle as part of her Journalism class during her sophomore year. During her junior year she was awarded the C-Award for Yearbook. As a senior she participated in the Bluecat News Network where she toured and observed at KRBC and filmed the Falconry Exhibit and Hunt in Coleman County. Bethany has maintained an AB Honor Roll from her freshman to junior year and maintained an A Honor Roll her senior year.

This year out of school Bethany helped video Jason and Jeromy Watson's short film, "Judge Yancey and the 17 Hand Mule." She also has been active in volunteering at Cornerstone Community Action Agency. Bethany worked at Don Luis Cafe through her junior and senior year and attends Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Bethany has also participated in the blood drive hosted by Hendrick Regional Blood Center and has been notified by Hendrick that her blood donation saved two lives this year.

Bethany has joined AmeriCorps and has been assigned to train in Vicksburg, MS in July. After training she will deploy to 4 to 6 projects across the country to begin her services in performing hands-on service in the areas of natural and other disasters, infrastructure improvement, environmental stewardship and conservation, energy conservation and urban and rural development.
