The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension office will be hosting a CarFit event in Coleman on Saturday, May 18th at the First United Methodist Church parking lot. CarFit is a fun, fast and free event that is an interactive and educational program designed to improve “seasoned” driver safety.
There will be trained technicians that will teach participants how to make their personal vehicle “fit” them by reviewing 12 key areas such as steering wheel tilt and placement, safe positioning of mirrors, properly adjusted head restraints and line of sight, just to name a few of the things that will be provided.
Those who wish to participate are encouraged to call the County Extension office at 625-4519 to sign up for the event. CarFit staff will not make any changes to your personal vehicle. Education will be provided on proper placement for your safety and comfort. The CarFit event takes approximately 30 minutes per participant. There are 24 spots so call today!!
CarFit is brought to you by the Mature Drive Program (a partnership between Texas Department of Transportation and Baylor Scott & White Healthcare in Waco), Coleman County Extension Office and Coleman First United Methodist Church.
